Inspiration Therapy

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Inspiration.”

Inspiration to create can come from where I feel balance. Balance in a color scheme I’m working on, or even in that feeling of accomplishment. Completing a challenging day at work, then returning home to receive a big hug from my husband where he meets me at the doorway, every day. And of course, the colors of the light, softly painted into an amazing summer sunset at the Northport Marina.

What inspires you?
Thanks for reading! YOU are awesome! Bye for now,

Anchor Your Happiness

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Symbol.”

A customer of mine told me that anchors have a lot of meaning to her and that she was having some health issues. When I asked her to explain, she said, “an anchor is a symbol of strength and stability.” She inspired me to make more anchor jewelry and I wrote this.

Anchor your happiness, anchor your love.
Anchor your faith, hope and healing, from the stars up above.
From the heavens to the sea, anchor happiness,
Anchor your dreams.

Inspiration: Nature

June, 2015 I captured nature.

I once read, to claim “Nature” as your source for inspiration as a n artist is cliché. Many of us are drawn to nature, and especially the outdoors in summertime. I love June. I believe, the artistic expression through nature is a gift. Cliché is defined in the contemporary art world by an artist and digital media communications professional, Christopher Healey, who has extensive experience with online development, marketing and public relations. Here is a link to his post. “A glib list of the top 10 clichés in Contemporary Art right now.”

The Pursuit of Happiness

This is where I need to be right now, no looking back and no regrets. Only beautiful thoughts, blessings, images, and words will be my space to create in. Creating my way to the pursuit of happiness!

I am a jewelry designer and graphic artist. On this blog, I hope to explore and learn, make new friends, share my ideas, present my jewelry designs, write about my process, post photography of my boating rendezvous on the Great Lakes, and share artsy tips! If I can do all of this, and cook for my husband, then wow, what an accomplishment! (He’s a much better cook than me and made the heart mash potatoes) I’ll have to allow myself to make mistakes along the way, in this new creative journey, in the pursuit of happiness.
